What does a class look like?

Warm Up
At the beginning of each class you can expect a group warm up that targets specific areas to help prevent injury and prepare for the daily workout.

Skill
A short exercise or focused lift dedicated to correct form and buiding strength.

Work Out of the Day (WOD)
Our WOD is different every day. It is a higher intensity workout with varying movements, times, rep schemes. This is where you will push yourself to grow. Our coaches will assist to ensure proper form and weight. This can vary and be adjusted based on skill and experience. It is a motivating individual effort with an encouraging group.

Stronger 4 Life (Beginners/ages 50+)
Every T/W/TH 8:30 AM
What sets Strong 4 Life apart from our other programs: Strong 4 Life is designed for a target audience of (50+) but is equally adapted to clients of any age who have injuries or movement / range-of-motion limitations that threaten their daily functionality. (E.g. Early-Stage Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Knee/Hip/Shoulder surgery/replacement, Sarcopenia, etc.) STRONG4LIFE Method focuses on four pillars of longevity; balance, posture, strength and independence. The programing draws from the fundamental roots of CrossFit and other Functional Movement exercise programs to emphasis the development of strength and mobility to support “everyday life” activities, thereby improving the quality of life and maintaining that quality of physical acuity to a much greater age. We’re not training seniors to compete in the CrossFit Games. We are training them to compete in the “game of life” for as long as possible.

Josh Hansen
Josh grew up in Southeast MN and started CrossFit in 2016 at New Ulm CrossFit. From there his love for working out grew and has brought him here. He enjoys competing in CrossFit in all forms; individually or on a team because who doesn't love to work out with other people! He is a Level 2 CrossFit trainer. When Josh is not working out, he tries his best to play golf.

Alison Gerrish

It took her husband over a year to convince her to walk in the door at her first CrossFit gym in 2018 and now she's hooked. Alison is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and is passionate about using lifestyle medicine to optimize overall health. She is certified in whole foods plant based nutrition, is a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional and is available as a health coach to her members. She is also a Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. Alison is a mom to 3 young children.

Jackie Burghardt
Jackie is a Watertown, SD native who is married and has three adult children. She has always enjoyed working out, but didn't start running more seriously until she was in her 40’s and then later found CrossFit in 2013. She was hooked after the first class, and faithfully attended 5-6 days a week. What she loves most about the CrossFit style workouts is how they can be adapted to all fitness levels. She has competed in partner competitions and also the Masters 50+ division at the Dakota Games. Jackie received her CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in 2018 and Level 2 in 2022 and looks forward to meeting new people and helping them achieve their fitness goals.

Brookney Delgado
Brookney was first introduced to CrossFit by her brother, but it took her about 5 years to get started with it herself. After taking that step, she was hooked. Brookney, along with her husband and 2 young children, have now made CrossFit a standard practice of their everyday lives.
Brookney is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in addition to her full tim marketing position in Watertown. She enjoys competing in league sports, 5k’s and Spartan a races when she gets the chance.

Grace Stein
Grace has been doing CrossFit since the summer of 2018, but the CrossFit bug bit her in the fall of 2019.
Grace grew up as a swimmer, swimming for over 10 years. Now, she leaves the water behind as she enters the CrossFit box 6 days per week. You can usually catch her in the gym each afternoon after finishing her job as a nanny for a local family.
Grace has a passion for working out and has a heart for sharing that passion with others. She will gladly help with any questions you may have in the gym and wants to help you enjoy working out as much as she does!

Paula Davis
Originally from MN but SD has been home now to her for many years, working as a Social Worker before retiring 6 years ago. Upon retiring she started cross training. She knew she needed to be stronger. Paula loves the workouts, because they are different every day. She is stronger now and feels physically and emotionally better.
Paula has a supportive, retired husband and 3 adult children. She adores her 5 grandchildren and loves spending time with them.
Paula hopes to help others feel stronger and more fit as a coach in our Strong 4 Life Classes.
Barb Struwe
Farm girl from central South Dakota, Barb taught elementary education for 36 years within the Watertown School District. She is retired and has two grown children. She enjoys plants, reading, the lake, golfing, and adventures.
Barb stared working out regularly in her 50's to become stronger for life. She feels it is easy to adapt Prescribed Fitness's workouts to match her abilities. Barb also loves the social community and the challenges presented at each workout. She is excited to help others achieve their fitness goals as a coach in our Strong 4 Life classes.

Holly Bratland

He loves how our Prescribed workouts translate into everyday life and outdoor activities. He is a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer and in his spare time he enjoys archery hunting and spending time with his family.
Holly grew up in Minnesota and now lives in Watertown with her husband and two dogs. She is a full time hair stylist and have always enjoyed helping others feel their absolute best!
She joined Prescribed Fitness when we opened our doors in 2020 and was immediately hooked. As someone who was terrified to walk into a cross training gym, she is excited to encourage others like her to improve their mental and physical health! She is also a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer.

Guy Arnold
Guy grew up in Kansas and moved to SD in 1997. He started CrossFit in 2018 and fell in love with it. "I lifted weights for most of my life and thought that was the only thing that I would ever do until I went to one CrossFit class, and I knew that this was what I have been missing as an athlete.
"The one thing I love about our gym is that we are a family, and we support and encourage each other. People say that they are intimidated with this style of fitness because of the athletes that they see on TV, and then realize that when they walk through out doors is that we are athletes at all stages of and ages in life."
Guy is a medic in the Army National Guard and a Field Service Officer for the SD Dept. of Veteran Affairs.
